Peking University International MBA (BiMBA) joins international business school partnership - 02 March 2012

Peking University International MBA (BIMBA) today announced an innovative partnership with two other leading international business schools and talent development associates.  The World Program partnership will help Chinese corporations seeking to expand into international markets whilst helping companies from around the world to operate effectively here in China.

The academic partnership with Ashridge Business School in Great Britain and Fordham University Graduate School of Business Administration in America is supported by a business partnership of Clipper Greening Ventures, experts in executive search and experiential learning, and Talent Q, a world leading psychometrics and business consultancy firm.  Together they will help to drive leadership skills, executive performance and cultural understanding to improve business performance.

Professor John Yang, Dean of BIMBA, stated, “After China's entry into the  World Trade Organisation, more and more Chinese firms have expanded overseas.  It is important for Chinese enterprises to learn about and understand global business, legal and cultural environments and develop business strategies that fit business environments in international markets.  The launch of the World Program in China signals a significant step towards a fuller integration of Chinese firms within the global business community.”

Clipper Greening Venture’s Commercial Director, Nigel Beacham, sees the opportunity from a Western perspective.  “Our clients see the World Program as a timely response to the current difficult global economic climate.  As China and other growth markets in Brazil, Russia, and India build in importance in the world’s economy, more and more international companies look to establish positions in these markets.  In this global business village it is vital that we understand the history, culture, market environments and consumer psychology before we can hope to accomplish commercial success.”

Beacham added, “Throughout the process of developing The World Program partnership with BIMBA in China, we have been inspired by their open and willing approach to developing lasting and meaningful business relationships.”

‘The World Program’ will typically provide performance and leadership development for tomorrows business leaders and organisations going through major change which are often operating in fast moving sectors in international markets.

The Dean of New York based partner, Fordham University Graduate School of Business Administration, David A. Gautschi, explains.  “As the speed and international nature of business increases exponentially, Fordham considers it vital to provide programmes which meet the need of corporations for improved communication, cultural sensitivity and optimal performance of future business leaders.  We also believe that business enterprise offers an opportunity for the human spirit to expand into the world, to stretch the limits of what is possible, and to learn, through working together, how to achieve something more than what has been done before.”

The World Program will provide organisations with relevant development solutions for their rising stars.  By mixing executives from different companies in open programmes, delegates will be able to share best practices.

Additionally, tailored programmes are available to meet specific company objectives, designed by business school faculty in consultation with business leaders and their respective human resources and learning development departments.

Kai Peters, Chief Executive of UK partner, Ashridge Business School, supports the venture.  “We are pleased to be a business school partner in this initiative, which through an innovative blend of academic and business activities will help to develop managers with a global outlook and understanding.”

Helping to set new standards in talent development The World Program will employ the latest assessment and personal development tools delivered by Talent Q.  Open programmes will be delivered in the UK, The Americas and Asia over the period of a year with five days spent in each of three business schools.  This will be supported by company visits and a dedicated online learning resource which will connect all course members throughout the year and beyond.  Clipper Greening Ventures will provide experiential learning on board the ocean racing yachts which sail in the biennial Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
